During this brief display of divine glory, Jesus’ face shone like the sun and His garments became as white as light. Moses and Elijah, representing the Old Testament’s law and the prophets, also testified His deity.

As the disciples fell down in fear and saw Jesus alone after the transfiguration, they realized they had witnessed a preview of the Lord’s glory in His second coming.

However, the disciples were told to tell no one of Jesus’ manifestation of glory until He had risen from the dead. Just as the forerunner of the Messiah, John the Baptist, was killed in the hands of evil men, the Messiah Himself will also suffer at their hands. All these must take place before the Lord appears again in His full divine majesty and glory to establish His kingdom on earth.

- In the book of Revelation, John saw the Lord Jesus Christ again in His full glory and majesty (Rev. 1:13-16). Do you believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will be coming again to judge the world? If so, how should you live your life at this moment?

- “Be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord” (James 5:7a). While our flesh is still in this world, we will share in the suffering of Christ. Pray that God will give us patience and perseverance as we endure through all trials until the Lord returns.
